European Champions Cup Final: Rimini ties Series on Friday

After losing the opener 1-2 to T&A San Marino on Thursday, ASD Rimini rebounded with a 5-4 victory on Friday to tie the best-of-three final series at the European Champions Cup. Four runs in the fourth put them ahead, a sac fly by Leonardo Zileri in the fifth turned out to be the game-winner.

The Titans tried to come back in the end, but Luca Pulzetti got thrown out at the plate on a fly out to center field by Jairo Ramos to end the game. Junior Guerra’s RBI single got them within a run just a few moments earlier.

Giuseppe Mazzanti highlighted the Pirates rally in the fourth with a two-run double. Alexander Romero had two hits for Rimini. Enorbel Marquez-Ramirez went seven innings, allowing just four hits, two runs (1 ER) and two walks to earn the win. Anthony Carpa struck out 11 in five frames, but still ended up with the loss.
