Major League Baseball revealed the rosters for the 2017 World Baseball Classic on February the 8th, 2017.
Three European Teams are participating the global baseball event which starts on March 6th: Israel, Italy and The Netherlands. That will be the fourth participation for Italy and The Netherlands, part of the World Baseball Classic since its birth in 2006, and the first one for Israel after it won a thrilling 2016 WBC Qualifier against Great Britain. Other European teams that didn't make it to the main round are Czech Republic, France, Germany and Spain.
Israel and The Netherlands are part of Pool A with South Korea and Chinese Taipei whereas Italy is with Mexico, Puerto Rico and Venezuela in Pool D (see below).
The competition starts on March 6th with four groups of four teams which compete in a round robin. The first two teams advance the the second round which is again a round robin with two groups of four teams. The Championship Round is played with a single elimination format.
